Corruption in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Corruption is the resource that powers Coen’s vampire half — and slowly rewrites who he is. It fuels the Vampirism skill tree, has two separate blood tracks, and gets harder to ignore as it climbs.

What Corruption Is

Corruption measures how much of the vrakhiri has taken hold. It gates the Vampirism tree: night powers, feeding and traversal abilities unlock as your Corruption rises. The higher it goes, the more the narrative reacts — including the risk of hurting the people closest to Coen.

The Two Blood Tracks

Sources of Corruption

• Voracious Bite — the core Vampirism skill. In combat, one charge feeds on an enemy (roughly 30s cooldown) and heals Coen.
• Blood Vials — consumable feeding anywhere, anytime.
• Dialogue feeding — at night, some social encounters offer feeding options that raise Corruption fast.

How to Farm Corruption Fast

1. Wait until nightfall in an area with wildlife.
2. Use Voracious Bite on deer and other animals — a full feed raises the track with no story consequences.
3. Repeat: players report roughly 5–7 minutes per Corruption level with this loop.
4. Invest in the Hastened Corruption perk (up to 3 tiers) to accelerate gains permanently.

The Risk Side

• High Corruption changes dialogue and can push Coen onto the full-vampire storyline.
• The narrative explicitly warns that feeding near loved ones can end in hurting them — romance and family scenes react to your track.
• Corruption is not strictly good or bad: some endings and many night abilities require a high track. Decide your target early.
