How Long to Beat The Blood of Dawnwalker
A normal playthrough of The Blood of Dawnwalker runs about 50 hours; pushing through all 30 in-game days with everything done lands near 70. The design target was 40 — players simply spent more time in the valley.
Playtime by Playstyle
| Playstyle | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Main story only | ~30 hours | Typical run ends around in-game day 20 |
| Story + sides | ~50 hours | Average across reviewers and players |
| Completionist | ~70 hours | Uses all 30 days, all regions, most quests |
| Speedrun | 5–10 hours | Prologue alone is ~3 hours for most runners |
Why Playtime Varies So Much
- The 30-day clock is the master variable: every quest, rest and shrine purchase spends in-game time, so idle wandering shortens your story budget.
- An average run ends around in-game day 20 — players reach the finale before the curse runs out.
- Full-clearing means spending your days deliberately: herbs and alchemy, ally chains, exploration, Corruption farming (guide).
Prologue Length & the First Act
The prologue — through the Blood Mass and the Anca recipe decision — takes roughly 3 hours on a first run and is fully scripted enough that replays still spend 1–2 hours before the valley opens up.
Replay Value
- With NG+ absent, full replays are the only way to see all four endings and both romance-adjacent paths.
- One-ultimate-per-run and mutually exclusive achievements push completionists toward 2–3 runs — plan 100+ hours for the complete experience.
