All Endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker
The Blood of Dawnwalker has four main endings. Which one you see is decided by who stands with Coen at the end — and by whether you break the rules of the 30-day curse.
The Four Endings at a Glance
| Ending | Final ally | Core condition |
|---|---|---|
| The Patricide | Lacra (vrakhiri) | Follow Lacra’s path to confront Brencis directly |
| The Knyazmaker | Crake / Manumit resistance | Restore Catalin Dragosti to power through Crake’s line |
| The Folk Hero | No one — Coen alone | Storm the castle solo, normally or by attacking early |
| The Turncoat | Brencis himself | Accept Brencis’ deal — the only ending without a final fight |
How Endings Are Decided
- Endings are keyed to the character who fights beside Coen in the finale, mirroring the three major ally arcs (Lacra, Crake, solo) plus the Brencis bargain.
- The 30-day clock is the real gate: each ally chain costs time, so a single run can only fully develop one or two of them.
- The epilogue also resolves your romance — relationship choices made days earlier surface in the final scenes.
Ending Breakdown
The Patricide (Lacra line)
Coen ends the vampire lord by the side of Lacra, the vrakhiri whose own story runs parallel to his. The ending follows the completion of Lacra’s arc and the confrontation built through her quests.
The Knyazmaker (Crake line)
Walking with the Manumit resistance and its leader Crake restores Catalin Dragosti to power — Coen makes the "kingmaker" (knyazmaker) play against Brencis’ rule of the valley.
The Folk Hero (solo)
Refusing every ally, Coen storms Griefberg alone. This works in two flavors: the normal late-game assault, or the risky early rush on the castle — players have beaten the finale almost immediately after the prologue by attacking while the enemy is weakest.
The Turncoat (Brencis deal)
Accepting Brencis’ bargain is the only path that skips the final fight. It comes with its own cost — and it is the ending most players will only see on a deliberate villain run.
Early & Failed Runs
- Several "bad end" variants exist if you die or run out of days — including a defeat state right after the prologue if you attack the castle before you are ready.
- Running the clock to zero without resolving the family chain also produces a distinct ending.
Spoiler: fully spoilered route list
Prologue death → early Griefberg attempt fails → the family is lost and Coen’s arc ends in despair. The four main endings above are the "success" states; each also has a romance-tinted variant in the epilogue depending on which of the three romanceable characters Coen pursued.
